Monterey Country Dance Community (MCDC) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. (Only the musicians, callers and sound technicians get paid). We are dedicated to keeping traditional live music and dance thriving on the Monterey Peninsula. We bring in many outstanding out-of-town bands, teachers and callers, while at the same time supporting local callers and musicians.
To keep magical moments of music and dance happening regularly on the Monterey Peninsula, we depend on our members. Your sponsorship fees help us to cover the costs of bringing you great musicians and callers, workshops and special events, as well as other necessities like insurance and hall rentals.
Membership is for the calendar year, January 1st to December 31st each year. Your membership entitles you to the following benefits:

- The MCDC membership directory to help with carpool setup
- Discounted entry at BACDS (Bay area) dances, among other area dance organizations
- A one-year subscription to MCDC's event mailings
- Two free guest passes to hand out to friends and family!
- FREE entry to the annual Newcomer's Dance (2/7/2026)
Our sponsorship levels for MCDC are:
- Sponsor an Entire Dance! = $600 & up
(includes membership) - Contra Angel = $500 to $599
- Contra Star = $100 to $499
- Contra Enthusiast = $51 to $99
- Community Member = $30 minimum
- Family Membership = $50 minimum
- $15 for a partial year after July 1st/$30 family membership after July 1st
